Our story

Before being a brand, Natna is first and foremost a story of the land, of family and of gestures passed down through 9 generations.

A heritage rooted in Burgundy

In these lands of Burgundy, the family has been farming for 9 generations. Long before Natna, there was already a history here of oilseeds, precise movements and noble materials transformed with care. Today, this agricultural heritage becomes a new form of care.

A family, values

Natna was born from a simple conviction: what is cultivated with exacting standards can become a skin care product in its own right.
Here, family is not a backdrop. It is the heart of the project, the memory of the place, the taste for a job well done, the commitment to doing less but better, and to passing on something that is right for the skin, for the earth, and for those who will come after.

From our lands to our oils

In these lands of Burgundy, the family has been farming for 9 generations. Long before Natna, there was already a history here of oilseeds, precise movements and noble materials transformed with care. Today, this agricultural heritage becomes a new form of care.
Our land and our oils

Our heritage

9 generations have shaped our lands, our expertise and our outlook.

1823

The story begins before 1823

A very long time ago, the territory of our commune was dedicated to oil production. On the 1823 Cassini map, the «Champs de l'huillier» (oil press fields), linked to the «Moulins à vent» (windmills) by the «Voie de l'huillier» (oil press lane), a dirt track that crossed the plain.
Today, in this bocage valley, mixed farming and livestock breeding share the land and oilseed production continues.
1880
Farming is already well rooted in the family, going back to the great-great-grandparents with the display of their reaper-binder, the ancestor of the modern combine harvester.
At that time, major harvesting projects mobilised the whole family, as well as neighbours who came to lend a hand. The days were long, the work demanding, and everyone played their part. These moments of collective toil made it possible to bring the harvests in and keep the farm going, season after season, generation after generation.

The threshing machine in the farmyard is an opportunity to involve young and old alike in the atmosphere of the summer work. Etienne poses with his son André and his wife Marie-Louise; in her arms, Eliane, the great-grandmother of Julia and Alice, who are still at the farm.

The arrival of the first tractor

The arrival of the first tractor is a major attraction for the whole village and promises a great deal of relief for all farm work. It is the beginning of modern agriculture and the end of shortages too.

The realisation that our soils have changed is taking hold. More compacted, harder to work, fewer earthworms... The turn towards a different kind of agronomy has been initiated by Laurent, based on protecting the soil and its living organisms, and will naturally lead us to cultivate everything using organic farming methods.
The applications and subsequent observations encouraged us to test new crops in our valley; it now remains to be seen whether the living organisms in our soils influence the quality of our produce. What better way than to make oil in a predestined terroir?
The construction of the first oil mill is therefore underway.

The results exceed our expectations; our soils have recovered their specific characteristics, our oils are very distinct and interesting for cosmetics. As a family, we decide to create NATNA, a natural cosmetics brand entirely designed on our farm in our workshops. The first creations will be dedicated to Julia and Alice, born in 2023 and 2024, the latest generation of the family.
NATNA is taking off and is taking part in its first MADE IN FRANCE trade fair, showcasing its “936” facial serum, 100% natural, as well as its entire range. Elise and Gaëlle create products they love – products that are tested, pose no health risks, are easy to use and effective. Many new products are currently in development for the coming years and for future generations. Clément is experimenting with new crops to meet the girls’ needs.

The construction of a new oil mill has been decided to modernise and develop our brand. Being selected for the ENBA finals out of 1,500 European companies and 40 countries, on 29 September, is already a major achievement for us. Antoine and Julien are modernising the website and planning the commercial development.
